Record sales for Spring Market…..more listings more choice. The month of March set a new record for sales. Strong economic fundamentals combined with low mortgage rates created a busy market. The Toronto Real Estate Board stated that new listings have reached levels not seen since the fall of 2008. Only months ago the GTA had approximately half as many listings. More homes for sale will bring balance to the market, moderate pricing and fewer multiple offer scenarios.
A market slow down is imminent in the coming summer months as interest rates inch upwards and the Harmonized Sales Tax kicks in July 1st. HST will not apply to the cost of a resale home but will be charged on moving, legal fees and real estate commissions.Learn More >>
Good news for buyers! The number of homes available for sale also increased by about one-third over last year.
